just wanted you to know how very pleased i am with the clothing i’ve purchased from you. i’m not much of an online shopper but came to your website out of frustration and disappointment over what’s in stores these days. generally speaking, i find “mall” clothes boring and unoriginal, and i can’t afford to shop in most boutique clothing stores.

your website is attractive and easy to navigate, your customer service and turnaround time is excellent and your prices are competitive. though i haven’t had to return items, your two-way free shipping makes for a risk-free purchase.

most importantly, i love your product. trendy, classy, good quality. the clothes look just as good (if not better) in real-life as they do online.

You’ve got a stain?? Ban-It!!! Free Giveaway!!

The other day I was vacuuming and I saw what looked like a pile of dirt near my printer.  I thought this was strange so I went over and realized it was a HUGE patch of ink on my carpet.  My natural reaction would be to freak out a little but instead I went to my bar of Ban-It that I’ve had for years.  I got it wet with cold water and then rubbed it on.  The stain came out so well (within seconds) that the carpet actually looked cleaner than the surrounding area. 

I thought it was worth sharing that this little stain remover bar works so well.  I always use it with cold water and depending on the stain, I will get the stain wet with cold water, rub some Ban-It on it then rub the fabric against itself for up to a minute and the stain goes away.

Interview with In The Know host Julia Suppa

For the past 6 months TiaStar.com has been providing the clothing for Julia Suppa, a television host for Rogers daytime show In The Know.  She has been such a great supporter of our online clothing boutique and not to mention an avid fan of all the new styles and lines we have added, we figured it was time to get her take on fashion and her thoughts on online shopping in Canada.  

TS: How did you first discover TiaStar.com and how has the online shopping experience been? 

JS: I first learned about TiaStar.com from a friend and I was instantly impressed with the selection, affordability and quick delivery! It makes shopping so easy! The best part: if something doesn’t fit you, you can return it. Simple as that. Tia responds quickly to emails and always makes sure you’re happy with your product.

TS: How long have you been the host of Rogers TV In The Know?

JS: In The Know launched in mid-January 2011 and I’ve been hosting the show ever since! I’ve been a host and producer with Rogers TV since 2006 on various other programs.

TS: What influenced you to become a television host?

JS: I’ve always wanted to be a television host.  I remember being a young girl and pretending to be reading the news at my computer desk.  I guess it’s partly because I’m so curious and I love learning new things.  I’ve also always enjoyed public speaking. It’s a great fit. I get to meet interesting people everyday and share my experiences with viewers.

TS: So far, what has been the most memorable episode of In The Know that you have been a part of?

JS: I don’t know if I have a ‘favourite’ episode - I learn something new in each show.  But, I am always interested in how we can better ourselves.  Whether it’s eating the right foods, or wearing the proper clothing for your body or cool new fitness techniques - there’s so many great - and easy - ways to take care of ourselves!

TS: What do you consider to be your interviewing style and do you feel this is reflected in your clothing choice for particular episodes?

JS: I guess it all depends on who I am talking with and what our topic is. And it’s definitely reflected in my clothing style. If our topic is more formal or serious, I’d wear a tailored black blazer or cardigan. If the topic is lighter and more fun, a floral dress or blouse. I love wearing color - it instantly brightens you up!

TS: What is your favourite trend right now?

JS: My favourite trend right now is feminine blouses. They look great at work and in the evening.  They can be dressed up, down and worn with pants, skirts or even leggings. And I’m so excited that it’s spring because I love dresses. They’re always in style!

TS: If you had to pick your absolute favourite outfit from TiaStar.com what would it be and why?

JS: Tough question! I have so many! I am loving the new Pink Martini collection, especially the Blue Seashell Dress. I also picked up the Floral Carolina Dress and it’s perfect for summer! Another favourite has got to be the Pink Galia Dress. I wore it at a friends wedding and received so many compliments! I told you I love dresses!

Give us some Summer Lovin’

 So FINALLY Mother Nature has decided to befriend us and give us some gorgeous weather and a taste of summer (let’s hope this continues)!!! I don’t know about all of you, but as soon as I walked outside and felt that warm breeze on my face I headed back into my closet, threw on a dress and have been in one since!  Who doesn’t love the comfort of the perfect summer dress that hugs all your curves just right? So in honor of the unofficial start to summer, we thought we would highlight our favorite dresses for daytime and nighttime wear :)

We are so excited to be launching out newest designer Pink Martini at TiaStar.com!! We felt that adding a little something new to our already wonderful selection of clothing would be the perfect way to kick start the fast approaching summer season! Expecting? This one’s for you!

Three years ago, almost everyone I knew was getting married.  Now, it’s a bump in the oven.  An exciting time for everyone and I’m loving helping women transition some regular pieces of clothing to maternity.  What I have learned is that it’s good to have the top fitted at the bottom so you still have shape (and can show of your cute belly)!  For pants, the issue is an elastic waist and you can either do a low waist (and avoid the belly) or embrace the belly and cover it a little.  

Maternity Tips for Spring & Summer Tops:

  • Look for stretchy fabric, loose fitting and length

Perfect loose bottoms with elastic waists to wear under these tops:

  • These soft, light weight denim bottoms have a lot of give and a higher waist which is perfect for a growing belly.  These pants and shorts have been a huge success and look great with a longer top that covers the elastic waist (see above tops).
